Serving the area of West Portland
You might say that Tyler Hurlbutt built his fascination with real estate from the ground up. After earning engineering and business degrees from Oregon State, the Tigard native worked in construction management on major projects, such as a $22 million, six-story OSU dormitory and a renovation of Legacy Hospital’s Good Samaritan emergency department and urgent care facility. Tyler’s team was the recipient of an Associated School of Construction (ASC) award in Reno, Nevada, for successfully bidding and selling building methods to a national builder audience. Today, Tyler serves American Home Shield real estate clients in the Oregon communities of Portland, Salem, Corvallis, and Albany.
With his engineering and building background, it’s no surprise that Tyler enjoys tackling home improvement projects, including working with his father, Bill, to complete a 110-foot stone retaining wall and garden shed. “I also enjoy spending time in the kitchen cooking lobster mac-and-cheese with my mother, Christi,” he says. Tyler’s other hobbies include snowboarding, driving ATVs, basketball, barbecuing, country music, flying, and tinkering in his garage. “My dream is to buy a piece of land on the outskirts of Portland where I can build my own home and raise chickens and livestock.”
Tyler is excited to bring his engineering and business experience to the real estate industry to help smooth the way for agents and their clients. “I find great satisfaction in working with a team to accomplish common goals,” he says. “This position allows me to be an integral partner to help realtors overcome the obstacles that frequently appear in real estate transactions from major system and appliance malfunctions.”
